PORSHE TAYCAN: A SPORTING IN THE ECO WAY

“Taycan being Porshe’s first flagship luxury electric automobile, it has brought itself to the electric industry. The automobile manufacturer is planning to invest more than $6.6 billion into electric mobility by 2022. There are two models released as of now: The Turbo with 670-horsepower and The Turbo S with 750-horsepower.

Also, at the events, it was known as the ‘Mission E concept car’ back in 2015. The Taycan is elegantly designed unlike other EV’s in the market. The maker claims the Taycan is the first-ever vehicle to accept 800 volts instead of 400 volts; again unlike any other EV. Interestingly, the Taycan is the first electric car with two charge ports, one on each front flank. This car also features four driving modes which are called the ‘Range’, ‘Normal’, ‘sport’, and the ‘sport plus’. The brand has added a new feature of activating its in-car assistant by simply saying “Hey Porshe”. The shell is fully galvanized with the mix of main materials as aluminum and steel. The Taycan also has a 93.0 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. If the Taycan is charged at its highest power of 270 kilowatts the battery can go from a 5% to an 80% charge in just about 22 to 23 minutes which is quite fast! It also uses a two-speed transmission which helps in both efficiency and acceleration. The interiors are luxurious with four large screens in the front seat. Porshe is trying to be more conservative by giving options to customers whether to select a leather interior or a total non-leather recycled material. Yes, Porshe has made huge advancements by just stepping into the industry but will have to work on its expensive pricing to actually compete hand to hand with the rest of the electric vehicle manufacturers.
