The Chinese brand Xiaomi dropped the world’s first commercially produced transparent television. Here, we are talking about a television from which you can properly see through even when switched on. It is called the Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition and it features an edge to edge transparent and a self luminous display which makes the image suspend in mid-air. When switched off it just looks like a giant piece of glass. To make this technology possible Xiaomi has removed the back panel which contains all the processing units in modern day television to the bottom piece of the Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition making it fully transparent.
The display itself is a 55in OLED panel with a static contract ratio of 150000:1, a 120Hz refresh rate and 1ms response rate. This cool technology makes predictions about the future of art galleries and many more applications. For those with a tight budget this piece of 55in glass pane is worth a whopping ₹5 lakhs.
